How to use CleanWeb?

  1. Open the Surfshark browser extension on your preferred browser and click on the CleanWeb icon.

  2. Now press on Turn on CleanWeb to turn it on.

  3. Once on, you can see what website it is currently functioning on and the ability to turn it off for this website specifically, meaning that it will be added to a list of websites that are unaffected by CleanWeb.

  4. Click on CleanWeb settings.

    Here you can toggle:
  • Ad blocker – the Ad blocker removes ads on the web pages you visit. It also blocks video ads on popular streaming platforms.

  • Pop-up blocker – blocks cookie pop-ups that you need to agree on in order to sometimes even visit the website.

How to access website safety settings?

  1. Open the Surfshark extension and click on Settings.

  2. Click on Website safety settings.

Here you can toggle:

  • Data breach alert – this tool will show whether the website you are visiting had any breaches previously. If a website has been breached previously, you will see a warning at the top of the page.
