What is the CleanWeb feature?

CleanWeb is one of Surfshark’s most popular features, included in every single one of our subscription packages. It's a feature that blocks ads and malicious websites. With CleanWeb enabled, the browser will show fewer ads, and fewer trackers will work. You will also be protected from some phishing attempts.

How to enable CleanWeb

NOTE: The steps below are demonstrated on a macOS device. The procedure is identical on all other devices as well.

  1. Open the Surfshark application on your macOS device and go to the Settings tab.


  2. Select VPN settings.


  3. Toggle the switch next to the CleanWeb option. When the switch is green – CleanWeb is active.
