How to set up Surfshark VPN on Android using APK installation

In this tutorial, you will learn how to install the Surfshark VPN app on your Android device using the APK file. APK stands for Android Package Kit.

You will need an Android device running OS 5.0 or later and an active Surfshark subscription, which you can purchase on our pricing page.

 

You will learn how to:

  1. Download the Surfshark app
  2. Install the app
  3. Connect to the VPN

 

Download the Surfshark app

 

  1. Go to the Android application download page. Tap on Download .APK.


  2. Once you download the Surfshark.apk file, tap Open on the pop-up.

 

Install the Surfshark app

 

  1. The installation process will begin. To confirm the installation, tap on Install.

  2. Once the installation process is complete, tap Open, which will open the Surfshark application.

 

Connect to the VPN

 

  1. The Surfshark app will open on your device. Log into your account by tapping the Log in button.


  2. Enter your credentials and tap Log in to proceed.


  3. You will see the main screen of the Surfshark application. From here, either tap on Quick-connect or a location of your choice.


  4. A pop-up will appear asking for your authorization to proceed with the connection. Tap OK.


  5. You will see a Connected status. If you wish to disconnect from your current location – tap Disconnect, and if you with to pause the connection temporarily, tap on Pause.
